Chateau Barka’s Royal Red 2013 Wins Gold at France International Wine Awards 2019

Chateau Barka is proud to announce that its Royal Red 2013 vintage was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal at the France International Wine Awards (FIWA) 2019, held in Paris from October 10 to 12.

FIWA is one of Europe’s leading wine competitions, known for its rigorous blind tasting methodology and international panel of expert judges. Château Barka’s Royal Red stood out among global entries for its depth, balance, and refined character.

Crafted from high-altitude vineyards in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, the Royal Red 2013 reflects our winery’s philosophy of combining tradition with excellence. Chateau Barka’s Royal red wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, resulting in a rich and complex flavor profile. On the palate, it has power and length with balanced and mellow tannins that become rounder over time, developing a leathery and spicy character. The wine showcases a beautiful ruby red hue, with a fruity nose featuring raspberries, black currant, and a hint of vanilla.

This award reinforces Chateau Barka’s growing international reputation for producing elegant, terroir-driven wines with a distinctly Lebanese identity. We are honored by this recognition and remain committed to showcasing the richness of our land through every bottle.
